Folly Beach, South Carolina

Folly Beach is right on the coast with temperate year-round weather. The Beach is a city on Folly Island, just south of Charleston. Easily see the Folly Beach Pier from the porch and balconies which stretches more than 1,000 feet into the ocean. Center Street is lined with surf and souvenir shops. Folly Beach County Park has picnic areas and a pelican rookery. As well as beaches and wildlife-rich habitats, Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve has views of Morris Island Lighthouse, completed in 1876.

Turtle Watch Beach House provides ample beach and activity accessories. (5) beach chairs, (2) umbrellas, (6) Beach towels, an array of beach buckets, pales, shovels for building sandcastles, beach paddle ball, (4) frisbees, and a tub of baby water toys including an inflatable baby pool!

The private beach access walkway is key to a beachfront home so take a walk out on your own private boardwalk to put your toes in the sand, go for a swim or look for shells (there are thousands). Let Melanie know if you would like to arrange to rent a golf cart or bikes so they'll be ready for your upon arrival.

Historic Charleston is an easy 15-minute driving drive from Folly. Downtown Charleston has an outstanding array of gourmet and casual cuisine with Harbor Dining, RoofTop Dining, and the more casual spots as well.  Tip: Seafood is fresh and definitely a must to sample. The market section in Downtown is sure to please any avid shopper. Charleston has several Historic Plantations and Gardens nearby. Also, the lovely towns of Beaufort, SC and Savannah, GA are only one hour by car and offer the most beautiful Low Country settings.
